<HTML>Compliant with international law, Spain interned the second sub after 24 hours in port. Also compliant with international law, it was turned over to the victorious Allies after the war. She became Allied property as soon as the Germans signed the instrument of surrender. In this case, the British got her. The Americans got the two from Argentina.
The first Spanish sub was never interned. The Spanish bought her outright, after allowing the sub to stay in their port for far longer than international law required. Once she ceased to be German property, neither the Germans nor the victorious Allies had any say as to her fate.
