<HTML>Dear kurt,
I thing you wrong when you describe the shore leave/basing in France as favorable.
First, France was invaded on june 40. Then the south part in november 42. So , except some exceptions, the shore leave/basing on french coast and harbours was not \"a riviera way of life\" for the crewman and german authorities.
Partisans, sabotage, diesel motors damage and unexploiting torpedoes and so on.... were daily reported.
During the repairs of Uboat, interperiod of sealing time, crew were parcked in military barracks, some time in town but often far from the town. Not an eden life.
So I dont know how they lived on Norvegian coast. But I think is the same.

So long and regard\'s</HTML>
