I agree with your opinion, but you are missing an important detail: GERMAN, ITALIAN and JAPANESE (and FRENCH) men were DRAFTED into service. They did non have the choice to serve or not, they HAD TO SERVE. They were sometimes given the choice to enter services because they liked it or because they were, for phisical or professional reasons, inclined to. Severe sanctions were enforced for renitents.
This makes a huge difference, because, theoretically, the Allied young men were actually volunteers.
