Captured U-boat Personnel

<HTML>From brief reference in a couple of books I\'ve read, I suspect the British developed considerable skill in gathering information from captured U-boat crew, by skilful interrogation, discreetly placed microphones and reading outward mail, including coded messages to relatives. They apparently gleaned considerable information on operational and technical matters, also on morale and shortage of experienced personnel. Any source for fuller information on this subject or comments would be appreciated.
