I am not sure that U-532 surrendered at Liverpool.

The boat surfaced and surrendered in accordance with the broadcast capitulation orders on 10th May 1945 when in the Atlantic approaches and was ordered to proceed surfaced to loch Eriboll. She was returning from a voyage to the far east to collect essential war supplies. She arrived in Loch Eriboll on 13th May. She was escorted that day to Loch Alsh, where all but essential crew were discharged for internment.

U-532 was then escorted to Gladstone Dock, Liverpool, where the war supplies were unloaded.

In June 1945 she was taken to Barrow Graving Dock for detailed inspection, evaluation and, ultimately, public visits.

U-532 was destroyed under Operation Deadlight on 9th December 1945.

There may have been a second U-boat shown in Liverpool - could it have been U-776 when she was on her meet-the-people tour of British ports after the end of the war?
