Just to point out a small and perhaps significant fact.... some of us \"bloody English\" from \"this fair, this septr\'d isle\" WOULD like to see the U 534 restored to as much as her former glory as would be humanly possible. This present government would not spend money on such a project...... why they wont even spend money on schools or hospitals if they can help it so something like U 534 is not even on the last page of their agenda.
The Germans did wonders with the U-boats in Laboe and Bremerhaven but, they had been in service for a number of years after the war and had been maintained properly. I dont think the German government is interested in this U-boat though.
A rather sad case because as far as I am aware it is the only example of a
Type IX U-boat anywhere in the world.
