Good Evening!

My name is Andre and i`am searching for Information about a Seaman from U 26, who lived in my Hometown on the River Elbe in Northern Germany before the War.
Gefreiter Heinz Heymann became a P.O.W. after the sinking of U 26 on 01. July 1940. The Sloop "Rochester" rescued the hole crew. (Source: U-Boot Archiv Cuxhaven).

But on 22. July 1940 five men of the crew, included Heymann died in Banff/Scotland. (Source: U-Boot Archiv Cuxhaven)

What happened there!

I have wrote a letter to Mr. Bredow and the U-Boot Archiv-Museum in Cuxhaven/Altenbruch and get more informations (see above). But they have no idea about the 22. July 1940. Who can help?

Regards
Andre
