Mark,
Thank you for the quick reply.
You are correct, John O'Donoghue was one of four Irish crewmen who survived the sinking of the SS Langleeford on Feb 14 1940.
John O'Donoghue (Cape Clear) & Joseph D Cormack (Dublin) landed in Glenderry,Kerry Head, Co Kerry,Ireland on Feb 17 1940.
Michael Barry (Newry) & C Connelly (Cape Clear) landed in Fodry Bay, Ross, Co Clare,Ireland. Connelly was the only person strong enough to row the lifeboat carrying 15 survivors when they landed on Feb 16 1940. My Mother(RIP) who was only 19 years old actually talked to Connelly about his time in the lifeboat at Ross.
Mark, the Chief Officer Hugh Thompson submitted a report on the sinking of the SS Langleeford, Is it possible to get a copy?
Regards,
Pat
