I\'m sorry to read your post about your grandfather & you
cannot find the U-boat\'s navigator of U 2540 in Germany..?
Have you try the U-boot Archiv in Cuxhaven, Altenbruch -Germany?
I believe the U-boot Archiv has the most comprehensive source on
all German U-boat history and also preserve the honour and services
of German U-boat crews. The director at the Archiv is Horst Bredow.

P.s This U-boat was put in the Museum at Bremerhaven in 1983.
