<HTML>Hi Simone,
If I am right Englemann could be quite a common name in Germany. Do you have any more information such as rank, where he was born (as accurately as possible), when did your Opa last have any contact with him and also whereabouts was that contact.
The reasons I ask are:- Officers are often easier to trace than seamen.
The city/town/village is important as he may have gone back to the area of his place of birth to live (in which case the local telephone book might be of use).
Was the last contact at the end of the war, perhaps in a sea-port, or did your Opa have some later contact perhaps in the 1950/60\'s etc? Again a local telephone book could be helpful.
There are German telephone books on line and it just might be possible to find out some information from them.
Hope this is of help and hope you will post any more information you may have.
Gruß aus England
