<HTML>Dear C. & J.B.
Las Vegas is quite safe, you can only loose your money; maybe it was more like playing Russian roulette: you may survive or not. Some simple mathematics: 15.000.000 tons of naval hardware sunk by 1000 U-boats in offensive patrols give a rough average of 15.000 tons (two or three large ships) sunk by each one. In six years that mean half ship/year/submarine. An U-boat was not a piece of cheap expendable hardware and had a crew of 50. Maybe Doeniz deserved his sentence for all the good German guys he sent off in eternar patrol. (Ethically I rate \"buthcher\" Harris exactly like Doenitz)
Greetings
