this boat had three emblems during the war:
The first commander choose the Olympic Rings because he was from the crew 36.
When the boat was transferred to the 13th U-boat flottilla at Drontheim, it received an additional emblem, a viking boat in a cross.
The last commander (Hess) choose the emblem \"Fang den Hut\" to remember everybody to the seriousness of the development in the U-boat warfare in a humerous way.
