an U-boat could launch a modified V1, that is a kind of flying bomb or pilot less aeroplane with a chemically stable propellant. The US Navy copied the system, naming it \"Regulus\" but the Germans never used it operationally.
The V2 was a rocket whose fuel tanks were filled just before launching and that was a dangerous matter. It would have been very difficult to store the proper equipment within an existing U-boat, even a large one.
