The names of the other 2 subs were obscured. The fictionalized version of the surrender centered only on the U 234. Consider this flaw in the story. The storage tanks welded to each side of the conning tower were removed and sent to our base from New Hampshire. That statement is true. The 5 tanks sent to us to strip them of booby traps were 5'in diameter and between 25'high and 30' long. How is it that not one photo of the 234 and all other subs showing them being escorted into port do not show the tanks that should be very obvious? The reason? They were sent to our base after removal from the subs from Newport News two months earlier.
