If the 1919-born Heinemann is the correct person, please relay the fact that Heinemann's name is inscribed on the U-678 tablet at the U-Boat memorial near Kiel.
You might suggest to your friend that she contact the Deutsche Dienstelle (WASt) in Berlin - [www.dd-wast.de] - to order the full copy of his military records, available to direct relatives. This will take many months to complete, but it is worth the wait.
