Tom, I agree with one of the posts above. Go for it. Do some research. Perhaps it\'s just a figment of Capt. Duffy\'s imagination, since he was not here during the war years as he states. There must of been some shipping traffic of the coast of Maine if there was a ship yard there. How can he say there was none. He was not here he said. When the ships were built they had to exit the yards. Therefore there was shipping traffic in that asspect alone. Perhaps the U Boats or at least one U Boat figured it would be worth checking this out and sinking a few as they were released from the yards. Who knows. But I also say check it out. Your relatives were ,not the Capt. Duffy.
