<HTML>Now you\'re on to something. It would be fascinating if some one (eccentric millionaire type ala Gates) would out of the blue create a full size, running mockup of a VII/c that would take history buffs out on...(Great Lakes...Med...Caribean?) for various lengths of time to give you the total u-boat experience. Yes, you and 20 of your buddies can huddle in the forward torpedo compartment hoping that you can \"lose\" a few of the eels and put the bunks down. Stand watch, curse the cook and search the horizon and skies...
Believe it or not...there a are a couple of civilian subs being fabbed for the rich and famous. They resemble yachts more than the grey wolves of the Kreigsmarine and are designed for very shallow diving and sight see-ing. Not unlike those old sight see subs a company used to operate in Caribean (dive depth realistically, about 45 feet...7 to 8 passengers tops)
Similation may be the way to go...maybe a combo of a movie like set...coupled with computer control...and a way to make it all move. The reek of diesel fuel and the ship mates you\'ve just spent several weeks worth of quality time with, is not included (but could be Glades newest scent).</HTML>
