<HTML>Your reverse hedgehog was called project Ursel. The idea was to fire a bunch of rockets at the pursuer from the back of the submerged U-boat. Range and bearing were determined by a special swiveling passive sonar device which measured both the bearing and azimuth angles and was effective at up to 5 times the diving depth. I presume there was a depth limit for firing the rockets, so the effective range must have been less than 500 meters. The rockets were not ready by the end of the war, but the sonar was. Ursel was intended for installation on the XXI.
