Well, thank you very much, M. Braeuer. I was just heading to a college library to find books about RAF operations 1940-43 to see whether I could figure this out. I greatly appreciate your helpful description. I think your last sentence is the explanation. I'm guessing the RAF at that period had too many Europe-wide targets and too few planes; and they were just realizing that their bombing was not accurate. Thanks again. Don
