I thought people might be interested to know that my brother was Signalman Roy McCaffery and was one of the casualties on the Rotorua. I was a child at the time but I understand that my mother was told he could have been saved but he went back for a photograph of his wife, whom he had married in August 1940. Very sad. He was only 21 at the time.
