Hi, I knew that my Great Uncle, Gerald Keenan, was one of the crew who died on the Rotorua but I did not know the details. I happened to come across your entry which was really interesting although I still have gaps in knowledge and details. I have a copy of a letter he wrote to my Nan in August 1940 obviously on his outward journey where he describes witnessing a boat being struck by a mine and how it sank in 4 minutes. It would be great to know the location of these events and the kind of jobs he would have been expected to do aboard ship etc. I didn't realise it was a Merchant Ship. My Mum was born in January 1942 and was named Geraldine after her lost Uncle. If you can help with building up a picture then that would be great. Yours, Ms. Anita Forde
