Update 2, US Navy PBY Catalina Units [Ragnarsson], describes the attack 'When a schnorkel and periscope was sighted, Lt F. Lake dropped from 2,000 feet and fired 24 retro bombs from 100 feet. One explosion was observed that brought debris and oil to the surface, thus signalling the end to the short lived careerof U1107. With no mention of survivors being seen at the time, would suggest that, along with no record of any being rescued, that there probably were none?. John
