U 376 U-BOOT IM FOCUS

Friends,

In Volume #10 of U-BOOT IM FOCUS and on page #45 it states that U 376 "On 16 November the stern tube with torpedo was torn off by heavy seas." This was during her fifth patrol. Simply, how could an entire loaded torpedo tube be ripped off a boat?
