This boat as mentioned back on 20.10.01 was sunk after a collision with U221, the A/C involvement was explained as the attacking Aircraft sank U611. However just read Martin W. Bowman's book 'Deep Sea Attack' where this incident is mentioned on page 80, where he states that U254 and U221 did indeed collide, however U254 was crippled, on the surface unable to submerge. Four crewmen left her and were picked up by U221, however a Liberator I AM921 F/O Bullock, after sinking U611 found them, while U221 submerged, U254 took four depth charges and was lost with all remaining crew. Anyone know of this? John
