Hi Jukka,

The Longest Voyages is good – typical of Showel’s work. I also like his books and I own most of them. Swastikas in the Arctic hasn’t arrived you but it should be here shortly.

Among other things The longest Voyages contains some details of the cargos carried between Germany & Japan by each boat & this is pretty difficult info to find. He found it in decrypts of diplomatic traffic between Germany & Japan. These are not detailed cargo manifests. For example, one entry is for 147 cases of communications equipment but the details of exactly what kind of communications equipment was in the 147 cases isn’t included. Another entry is consumable stores for U-boats and U-boat shops, spare motor parts and compressor parts.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Ken Dunn
