Hi Ken

Very sad news. Horst was a very good friend. I had met him on many occasions
on my visits to Altenbruch. I have had the good fortune to have stayed in the
Deutsches U-Boat Museum where I made friends with other members of the FTU.
Horst introduced me to Volkmar König (U-99) IN 2003. Aged 90 Horst worked
tirelessly in his office in the Archive. I have happy memories and lots of
photos. I wish to convey my condolences to his wife Annemarie, his daughter,
son-in-law and grandchildren.
May he rest in peace.
