<HTML>Oh Torlief, how very true your words are. The men in uniform are remembered by their comrades and future generations but Who can say with their hand on their heart that they remember the civilian casualties of war - men, women, children.
Even as their husbands, sweathearts, children were fighting on land, sea and in the air for their country their loved ones at home were also dying.
Although they did not fight directly they died nonetheless in the bombing raids, as passengers in ships that were sunk. Some died at the hands of the Gestapo and the Kempi-Tai. Many thouands, at least, have unknown graves or there wasnt enough to bury them after horrendous things like the fire-storms in Hamburg and Dresden.
The next Rememberance Day I will make a point of remembering them even if its just a few whose stories I know about.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention

Regards
