Hello there,
By chance, has anyone come across references to Chateau de la Massais? This was a Kriegsmarine station based about 5 km outside Rennes very close to the village of Guichen. It was possibly used as a listening station for U-boats and surface vessels to Allied merchant vessels working the Gibraltar to UK convoys.
Post war it was used by the French Navy, but it's use during WW2 that I am most interested in.
Last year, I visited the site - it is derelict and fenced off, although the extensive lawns and shrubs appear to be well kept. I would welcome any information on the site.
Kind regards,
Bob
