Dear Brad,
What makes you think that any U-Boat surrendered at sea to HMCS Fredericton?
Any hints please, ie. date, location, source of the story, etc.
Certainly no U-Boat which surrendered at sea in the North Atlantic in May 1945 was escorted directly to Londonderry (or Lisahally or Lough Foyle).
Those that surrendered at sea and ended up in the UK arrived at either Loch Eriboll or Weymouth/Portland.
Yours aye,
Derek.
