in 1945 the scrap value of the Phospor bronze torpedo tubes was 200 pounds Aus.
the valves and various piping was sold for use in irrigation projects, in citrus farms
The most valuable item was the lead ingots under the keel. 1,000 pounds
Salvaged diesel was usually sold to small business.
The generators and motors ended up being re used in industry.One still exists in a caravan park.!
The dutch sub k9 was salved from Seals rock in Australia, and in this months Australian Warship review, there is a great article on her. It is likely that this is the sister ship to the one used by the Kriegsmarine.</HTML>
