Disposition of boats, 31.8.39

Sorry if this has been asked before or is answered somewhere else, but can anyone provide me with (or direct me to an online source) for the disposition of boats on the eve of war. I am after the number of and which boats were

a) in the Baltic
b) in the North Sea
c) in the Atlantic

With the latter two, if it is known whether they were transiting or assigned that region. I have seen the BdU KTB online, but I find it difficult to sort out specific locations and assignments.

I assume that finding exact positions for each boat is impossible, but can it be ascertained for some?
