Hi, in Rainer Busch book 'German U-boat Commanders of WW2' Alfred Radermacher is listed as being in command of U120 from 15.09.42 until 24.05.43, whilst still commanding U120 he was given temporary command of U5 for a few days at the Beginning of March 1943, gaining the distinction of serving on U5 at every level from seaman to commander, U5 was lost a few days later. Also mentioned, Hermann Rahn is listed as being commander of U5 from 10.11.42 until her loss on 19.03.43, which may suggests Rahn at the beginning of March was away from U5 and Radermacher for a few days and was overlooking U5 for him.John
