Surrender of U-Boat off Irish Cost

I was wondering if anyone could point me to a source that could provide more information on a U-Boat that surfaced on May 8th 1945 off the cost of Mine Head in Cork, Ireland. The U-Boat tried to surrender to an Irish private vessel but went on its way when it was told it had to surrender to an allied navy since the Ireland was neutral during the war.
