Hello all over on reddit there is currently a project underway to attempt to identify and find the wreckage of U-852, which was scuttled off the coast of Somalia. Our HQ is over here: www.reddit.com/r/thehuntfor852
Our question was, what all info do you guys have on her? We've got a rough location and a few leads but nothing concrete. From what we know so far, she was blown up somewhat unsuccesfully by the crew, and the British were able to board her and seize some objects. Beyond that it's pretty unclear, but it should be near the coast somewhere. All of the coordinates, including on uboat.net, are very general and inaccurate, and we can't identify where these actually came from. We've got a request in with the UK National Archives for some documents and we have some from the Australian archives, but we were wondering if you guys had any extra info or knew anything extra.
Thanks, and feel free to stop by and join in!
