Dear All,

Further to my earlier information that HMS Kingston Agate did not escort U-570 from Iceland to Barrow, I have done a "belt-and-braces" check with TNA file ADM 208/9 (The Red Book), and this confirms that during the time of the transit, HMS Kingston Agate was located at Tobermory in western Scotland.

Thus the uboat.net version of the story is now doubly confirmed to be correct, although the error is still evident in the Wikipedia entry.

On the other hand, the information in both uboat.net and Wikipedia is incorrect in relation to the date on which U-570 was commissioned into the Royal Navy as HMS Graph.

The correct date, as confirmed in Admiral (Submarines) War Diary (ADM 199/400) is 5 October 1941.

Hopefully this prime-source information will eventually be accepted by all concerned, and the errors will be put right one day soon.
