The actual date of the attcak and sinking is not in doubt, how CWGC record the date of the deaths is where the confusion is coming from. STELLA CAPELLA was officially presumed lost by the Admiralty on the 19th and this is the date the CWGC have used to record the deaths of the crew.
Doing a quick search another example is HMS ORPHEUS, exact date of loss unknown but Admiralty officially delcared it presumed lost 29 June 1940 and this is the date recorded in CWGC for the deaths of the crew.
