<HTML>The remark about the recoil was more tongue in cheek than anything. Interesting thought crossed my mind though, regarding the big caliber guns and low flying aircraft. I have read of incidents of Japanese cruisers and battleships firing their main guns at low trajectory to ward off torpedo bombers. The impact splash would disrupt the torpedo plane\'s run in. And, if the plane was unlucky enough to hit the splash ..... well, would be like hitting a wall. I think I\'d rather try spooking with 20mms on the wintergarten, then get a lot of water over me than waste the time to deploy the deck gun crew.</HTML>
