Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
here are some comments to Curd Jürgens. The first link deals with a short comment to “Duell im Atlantikâ€, the German name for Enemy below and concludes the movie is missing, according to the author, some “depthâ€, what ever this means.

„1944 wird er gleich nach Drehschluss des Films "Wiener Mädeln" zum Militär eingezogen, weil er sich mit einer Nazi-Größe angelegt hatte.“
I never heard of that Jürgens spend time in a concentration camp, but wikipeda claims, that Jürgens was drafted into the military in 1944 right after wrapping up the movie “The Girls of Viennaâ€, because he became at loggerheads with a Nazibrass. This kind of action was quite common in Germany in those days but also before the war to shield persons from Nazipersecution to have him join the military, because the Armed Forces were basically of limits to Nazi influence. One reason for KUSCH to join the navy in the mid thirties was also to prevent the Nazis from further haunting him in Berlin, where, he was told, they were pretty close of arresting him because of his opposition to the Nazis.

Last not least the link to the Deutsche Filmmuseum, where further inquiries as to the life of Curd Jürgens might be posted.
You all have a nice weekend.
You all have a nice day.
Sincerely Yours
