<HTML>Hi,
I hope that I am not bringing up a dead issue, but as a naval officer, and having watched Das Boat (DVD) with the directors comentary on, Wolfgang Peterson give a lot of valuable info on the movie. Anyway, a ship like that is considered a hazard to navigation, and room inside a U-boat being very limited, I\'m sure the crew was happy to get rid of a torpedo to free up some space for them. </HTML>
