<HTML>For me it was not only the huge mistelling of history , but the \"mission imposible\" of the stoy line . So unreal.
If a submarine tale had to be told why not that of \"Drumbeat\" or Sc122/HX229 ?
perhaps Admiral King dreamt up the plot of 571 ?
It would be sad if movie coverage of 1939-45 took a step back in time , unfortunately boy\'s own adventure movies put bums on seats anad that is al Hollywood is interested in.
571 did not represent the harsh reality of the beach scenes of Private Ryan or the terrible scenes of the \"Final Solution so well illustrated in \"Shyndlers lists\".
One gentleman from the film library of the Imperial War Museum who when interviewed regarding the forthcoming movie \"Enemy at The Gates\" rightly stated that perhaps the best outcome of movis made about war is tat it may make people who would never read about the subject interested enough to read the actual history itself.
If U-571 did achieve somethng let it be his rather than just turning a few $\'s profit.
