Just watched the movie myself and was intrigued by the morse message at the end, being a former amateur-radio operator with a military morse-operator training.
The message (as far as it was discernible to me) reads
CQ CQ CQ DE SSINGO (break) CARGO SHIP OUT OF T... (Tokyo)
"CQ" ("seek you") is a general call ("anybody out there!"), "DE" means "from", and "SSINGO" naturally refers to the ship "Ingo".
So yes, the message is quite legitimate.
