While I am loath to have to defend the no-talent hacks of Hollywood, I have to point out that they are an American company making a movie about American soldiers for an American audience. If you are upset because the cast does not look like a meeting of the United Nations, tough. Go spend your own money and make your own film.
The US has come a long way from the days of the TV show "Rat Patrol". Hollywood's last two big WWII movies, last year's "Enemy at the Gate" and this year's "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" not have a single American in them. We are quite willing to be interested in the stories of other countries, as our presence on this board shows. If fact, judging by the intolerant howls on this board every time an American movie is made, I would have to say that the USA is the least provincial, most inclusive country in the world.</HTML>
