This is the forum for Movie and Film discussions. Again, our topic is naval warfare in WWII for the most part.

<HTML>Nice coincidence.
Altona is, at least now, smack in the middle of Hamburg, really. A bit west of the city centre. That company (do you know its name?) most likely got bombed to smithereens by the thorough work of Bomber Harris and his allies, I'd say. In Altona, one is very hard pressed to find any building at all that doesn't have a plaque on it saying something like: zerstört 1943/erbaut 1955 (destroyed/rebuilt). Mail/reply me some details, if you have any, and I could take a look. Maybe I can find the place where the company was or (who knows) still is.
There is a park behind my house (Wohlerspark, formerly named graveyard Norderreihe) that used to be a graveyard, but even the graveyard didn't survive the war. It was not possible to restore it, so it has been turned into a place of quiet and contemplation. A lasting reminder of the insanity that struck the world back then.</HTML>
