This is the forum for Movie and Film discussions. Again, our topic is naval warfare in WWII for the most part.

While we are having a tongue on cheek discussion of movies...
Here is a silly thought I had while watching Crimson Tide.
You know (*** spoiler alert ****) how the crew divides into 'follow the captain and fire the missiles like we think we've been ordered to' and the 'follow the exec and try to confirm first' factions. Being Hollywood this is more than just a few heated discussions, but rather they split into armed factions fighting inside the boomer. Well, they have those guards in full camo fatigues wondering about, taking sides and generally shooting things up.
Have you ever wondered about how useless jungle pattern (or whatever they were) fatigues are in a sub hundreds of feet underwater and a 1000 miles from the nearest vegatation?
Now, maybe boomers really do have guards with full camo fatigues wandering about in them (I've never been on one) but isn't it a bit silly? I mean, what vegetation are they supposed to blend into? Wouldn't it be better to have 'machniery pattern' fatigues? Complete with pipes and valves and switches painted on their clothes?
Hey, just an idea.
