I can understand you're frustration, but it really is distracting when the "props" for lack of a better word don't even remotely resemble what they are supposed to portray.

It's a bit ironic really that most war/military movies were made and continue to be made with non-realistic ships, planes, armor vehicles, etc...specifically for an audience that supports the genre, and they are the first to recognize all the mistakes.

In a way I envy your ability to say a sub is a sub, it's the story that matters, but for me and others it couldn't be any more distracting than a skipping DVD (sometimes I swear people must strap them to thier children's feet have have them run around outside for a while).

I'm of the opinion that if your going to bother creating something, don't do it half a--ed, do it right.
