Yes, I didn't mention that Kptlt. Eck was the only proven GERMAN case during the Second World War. That has left a stain on the charachter of the German Uboat force.
Sadly there were others on both sides and in both wars. But, in the main once your enemies ship has been sunk and survivors are in the water you do what you can to assist them. After all the greater enemy is the sea and "you cannot blame the sea, she is only there"
