 | 3 fishesKaleu Becker, the first commander of U-218, came from Küstenfliegergruppe 706 (Coastal Comm.). Base Kamp /Pommern. The fishes are freshwater fishes from Kampersee. That was the water on which the flying boats were landed on. When he transferred to the U-boat arm, U-218 had no emblem and so came the idea to theese fishes. He felt the emblem would bring his boat luck as it had with the flying boats. and he thought the Emblem brings U 218 back home too. Keywords: 3 fishes, black, shield |
