Notes

Bauer entered naval service on April 1, 1904 but not as a Seekadett. He apparently only became an officer candidate on November 6, 1906 and first appears in the 1907 Rangliste of naval officers and officer candidates, at the very tail end of Crew 1905, as having been named a Fähnrich zur See on April 6, 1907 though with a seniority date of April 7, 1906.
