1945. The day before Hitler commits suicide, he arranges for Nazi leader Martin Bormann to flee to South America in a German U-boat.

1992. Terrorist Sean Dillon is saved from a Yugoslavian firing squad—if he agrees to help the British government retrieve the long-lost documents of Martin Bormann. The wreck of Bormann's U-boat has been discovered in the Caribbean, along with a secret list of Nazi sympathizers. The names include high-level citizens from the U.S. and Great Britain—and may implicate the Duke of Windsor himself. The evidence lies in a watertight briefcase on the bottom of the sea. As always Higgins is the master. What a delightful read. This is my second time through all his his books and all I can say is time well spent!

Enjoyed the intrigue. Prefer Higgins novels set back during WWII, but the Caribbean and the diving was a fun angle.

Full of action and adventure. A classic tale of daring, with credible characters and a plot I couldn't stop reading.

Interesting characters and a taunt, well developed plot. We see Sean Dillon in a new roll working for the government he once bitterly hated.

Much better than the first book. History and gangsters. And the Virgin Islands! What could be better? Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Higgins is always good, after reading many of his books, I enjoy his characters. Some of his books later on are rather cookie cutter and seem rather dated. Black velvet corduroy suits and Walther PPK, Krug champagne etc. Still enjoyable reading.
