Personally I found this narrative more “real” than the somewhat boisterous “Battleship Sailor” book. In this book we go to war in a small ocean going tugboat, face the oppressive climate, and face good and bad commanding officers. I recommend this book for its genuine character.
Really hits home about doing your duty and following through as well as proving that it really is a team effort.
Shows a less glamorous side of naval service but also shows the important role that they played in winning the war.
Good read.
